This "on demand"wrist strap tester alsofunctions as a commonpoint ground for up totwo wrist straps and amat. When the wearer ofa wrist strap touches themetallic pad, a path forcurrent flow is completedfrom the wearer's skin,through the wrist strap, to themetallic surface, then to ground. This action will causethe green "TEST GOOD" LED to light (and the optionalaudible signal to sound) as long as the resistance of thecircuit path is between 750KΩ and 10MΩ. The wriststrap being tested may also be plugged directly to thetester, or any convenient common-point ground.Although this tester may be mounted any place on thebench, a 10mm snap stud on the back of the unit allowsit to be snapped directly onto a mat. This item operateson 120VAC and comes with NIST-traceable Certificateof Calibration.
