Westover Scientific Refractometer
All-purpose Model RHB-32ATC Brix 0-32°
Industrial (not Economy) Series – these are the new style refractometers, not the old!
This refractometer is easy-to-use, rugged, and comes with a 1-year warranty. The straight-forward instruction manual will have you up and running without delay or frustration. The Westover models RHB-32 and RHB-32ATC feature a broad 0-32° Brix range making them ideal for testing sugar levels or industrial fluids. ATC models are equipped with automatic temperature compensation which allows for accurate readings in fluctuating environments (like outdoors.)
* High quality for the lowest price in the industry
* Includes calibration screwdriver, plastic pipette, and soft-sided black zippered storage case (nicer than the hard plastic cases!)
* Backed by Westover Scientific, the largest refractometer manufacturer in North America
* Fruits, Vegetables and Grasses
* Drop Tested daylight plate with metal hinge
* 1 year warranty from Westover Scientific, Inc.
* Translucent blue background
* Brix Scale for sugar-related liquids in juice, wine, soft drinks, honey, and food
Ordering information: Brix is the scale commonly used in testing concentration of cutting and grinding lubricants. For general use, the 0-32° scale is the most common. For low concentrations or synthetics, we recommend either the 0-18° or 0-10° scale. Models with the ATC suffix are equipped with Automatic Temperature Compensation, which allows for shift in the ambient working temperature without recalibrations {Operating range: 50° - 86°F (10° - 30°C)]

About the Brix scale and Brix refractometers:
The Brix scale is primarily used in fruit juice, wine making, and the sugar industry. Since Brix is related to the concentration of dissolved solids (mostly sucrose) in a fluid, it is therefore related to the specific gravity of the liquid. Because the specific gravity of sucrose solutions is well known, it can be measured by a refractometer. The Brix refractometers were developed for working with sugar related liquids (fruit juice, soft drinks, wine, and honey) and help monitor or control sugar concentrations in foods and beverages. The Model RHB-32ATC is also commonly used for controlling the concentrations of various industrial fluids (cutting lubricants and flux rinsing compounds).
