Vintage oldham amp meter inductive ?

vintage oldham amp meter not sure where this would have come from but i would say its fairly old. it is marked dc amperes generator current indicator. its scale is from 0 - 30 plus and minus. i assume it is inductive as it has no wires but it has a spring loaded clamp which has a curve as if to clamp on to a cable. obviously not knowing the application for this item it sold untested but looks to be in very good condition for its age and i am sure it will still work fine.
