Cheap Quality Many sellers on e-Bay are focused on selling the cheapest products they can get. Often the prices are too good to be true. They cost less then a quality gas generator when in real life they should cost a lot more. They simple sell you absolute minimum they can get away with. Their products are built in cheap labor assembly plants and then imported by liquidators from China.
Look under the hood. Few ever show you what is under the hood. Don't get fooled by fancy enclosures, it is what is inside it that counts.
Watch out for digital panels. Just like on a car, all it takes is one thing to go wrong and your out of service. Sure they look nice however you will need to return to a dealer to fix it rather then be able to service it yourself. Remember the whole point of diesel is that they are simple machines and easy to service. Adding electronics to them make no different then a gasoline vehicle.
Automatic Transfer Switches - In order to be hooked up to your home they need to have electrical approval. What some sellers do is toss in a cheap ones made in China that can't ever be used here. The second issue is the products they sell can't be left outside, they simply are not weather proof and having it turn on by some cheap Automatic Transfer Switch on its own is simply never going to happen.
Look for published numbers, addresses and locations. It is not hard to do a search on Google and see what comes up.

This generator is designed to work in either hot or cold climates. For cold weather you can use the built in cold start pre-heater and the decompression leaver for easy starting.
For normal operation you will find the extra heat shielding and fire proofing not found on other generators helps keep this machine running cooler so even is the hot days of summer or on a job site.
Starting is simple. You can either use a wireless key chain remote starter or use one of the two keys provided to turn it on. Within seconds it is ready to use. You have more options on this generator for electrical hook up then most others. You will notice an extra 30 amp 120 volt receptacle. This is for those who wish use it to its full capability. (Something not possible with others on the market limited to 20 amp sockets) This generator will work with transfer switches that is sold separately. Please note our transfer switches are CSA and UL approved unlike the cheap ones sold by others that carry no electrical approval at all and can never be installed at your home.

Voltage Regulator Notice on this heavy duty version our regulator has been installed outside of the alternator to improve performance. Forced air now flows though the alternator easier so it runs cooler and is more stable under extreme conditions. Normally the regulator is found inside the alternator however for those who demand better quality and may run their generator more then just a few hours our improved design outperforms others.burned
The above photo is an example of the standard location for the voltage regulator shown here inside the alternator. For better performance and cooler operation our design has this regulator mounted externally so it does not restrict the normal forced air though the alternator and overheat as shown on this competitors product.
