A high-power pum¥module emits from 140 to 180 mW at 1480 nm for pumping erbium-doped fiber amplifiers. The FOL1402PBx series includes modules emitting 140 and 180 mW when drawing 600 mA of current, as well as modules emitting 150 and 160 mW when drawing 500 mA. The company achieves higher powers by optimizing layer composition and growth conditions to increase slope efficiency, increasing uniformity of growth for higher process yields and optimizing the optics.
