TTL to PC Serial Port (RS232) Converter Module
This module is for interfacing PC serial port (COM port) to microcontrollers, basic stamps, PIC and other TTL devices.
The PC serial port transmits and receives signals at +/-12V while TTL devices like Basic Stamps operate at -/+ 5V. So to interface with each other, you ll need an interfacing circuit.
This module converts and match those two sets of signals for you.

About the Max232 IC /SIPEX SP232
The MAX232E transceivers are designed for RS-232 and V.28 communications in harsh environments.Each transmitter output and receiver input is protected against +15kV electrostatic discharge (ESD) shocks, without latchup. The MAX232E operate with four 1uF capacitors.
