From what I understand you cut three pieces of ferrous metal from a sample of the material you have, insert it into this equipment and you get a readout that tells you how suitable it is for drawing to a shape.
I turned the unit on and the digital display shows all zeros.
I pushed the oscillator button and the light comes on and the digital display shows random numbers.
That is all I know and what it does. It looks to be in good condition.
Unit is marked "Out of Service", so I expect that it should work.
