The EDM Graphite Dust Extraction Unit by Rigid is designed to completely surround the graphite being machined by a liquid curtain which encloses the machining area. This liquid curtain has the following advantages: tool room, machines and CNC controls are not exposed to flying graphite dust and can therefore perform to the optimum. Employees are NOT exposed to dust and health hazardous materials.
This EDM Graphite Dust Extraction Unit manufactured by Rigid in Switzerland is a model GA-200. The trolley type coolant tank contains 53 gallons coolant. A used and clean water pump are mounted on this container. The water mudded by graphite sludge runs through a hose pipe from the machine table.
There are two (2) sets of operation manuals that are included in the purchase. It is our opinion that this unit can be adapted to any spindle nose but the addition of collars to compensate to the machine being used. The collars for the adaption would have to be made and are NOT included in the sale.
The GA 200 Graphite Dust Extraction Unit has been hardly used and is in an excellent condition as can be seen in the listing photos. The unit can be inspected under power in Dayton, Ohio and when purchased will be loaded at no-cost.
