By The Lincoln Electric Company
This well illustrated book is one of the training books Lincoln uses in its famous welders school and has been revised to include the latest techniques and welding products from Lincoln Electric.
79 separate lessons cover virtually all phases and techniques of stick welding from sheet metal to line pipe, to nonferrous metals.
Other chapters cover TIG and semiautomatic processes for more advanced applications.
This edition of New Lessons in Arc Welding is the 5th revision of a text resulting from an enlargement of the lessons used in the Lincoln Arc Welding School. This school has been in operation since 1917. The methods and material presented here are not the ideas of any one person.
They are the result of information gathered from the staff of the Lincoln Arc Welding School, weldors in the field, welding teachers, field engineers, and the comprehensive engineering and research facilities of The Lincoln Electric Co. Arc welding has progressed tremendously in the past 10 years.
New electrodes, machines and processes have been developed. This book presents concisely the latest technical information on the practice of arc welding.
The text is divided into several areas. Lessons 1.1 to 1.48 contain the basic information necessary to become familiar with manual electrodes. Some ability to perform each job should be learned before attempting the next.
Information lessons are presented as they are needed to adequately understand the process, equipment or materials encountered in the welding jobs.
Lessons 2.1 to 6.3 contain information and operating procedures on specific manual machines and electrodes manufactured by The Lincoln Electric Company. These are representative of machines and materials encountered by the weldor in his work the world over.
Section 7 has been added to cover the semiautomatic welding processes available today: flux-cored, gas-metal-arc, and submerged arc. To make the most effective use of today's welding technology, one must become familiar with these processes. Indeed, some shops today use virtually no stick electrodes.
Section 8 covers the TIG process and the unique equipment it requires to make high quality welds on virtually any metal.
The Welding Application Supplement in Section 9 contains information and procedure data for minimizing welding costs, supplementary information to help weldors better understand the welding process and its use.
New Lessons in Arc Welding is an easy to understand lesson set covering stick, TIG & MIG welding.
5" X 8", Softcover, 528 pages, profusely illustrated with hundreds of black & white photographs and working line drawings.
