With the evolution of optical networks, the need for multiple distribution of optical signals is crucial. Shared or combined laser sources are being used in all forms of video and data transmissions as well as in FITL based topologies. The ability to provide varied architectures for the purpose of sharing optical signals allows the service provider to tailor their network in the most cost effective manner available.
The 86551 Series Broadband Coupler Modules from Molex package coupler technology in easy-to-use plug in modules for use in rack or wall mounted shelves. Modules are available in four styles: 1x2, 1x3, 1x4 and 1x6 optical splits (1x6 does not include FC adapter version).
Units will come pre-configured with the desired number of input/output ports using Molex industry standard SC/UPC, SC/APC, FC/UPC or FC/APC adapters. The APC adapters are color coded green for quick identification. All of the adapters combine a precision molded polymer or metal housing and a super precision zirconia alignment sleeve. Cable outputs are also available with pre-terminated connectors on 3mm jacketed fiber cable.
