This Tektronix 494P Programmable Spectrum Analyzer is in good used condition. The case has some scratches and minor dents on the top and sides. All 10 rubber feet are in good shape, the 4 on top (with lips to aid in stacking) the 4 on the bottom (with grooves to aid in stacking) and the 2 big rear bumper feet have all their screws. The handle rotates easily and locks firmly in place to serve as the unit's kickstand. The rubber grip on the handle is in good shape. The 3 pull out Power Up and Operation tabs are intact and easily legible. The front bezel of this Spectrum Analyzer is missing a fair amount of paint in places, and the painted top side of the screen housing has started to bubble up.
On the rear of the unit, the 7 BNC, Probe Power, J104 Accessory, and IEEE STD 488 ports are in good working order. On the face of the unit, all RF, BNC, and RSA ports are in good working order. The buttons press firmly and glow red, and the knobs and dials turn smoothly and precisely. The scope picture is clean and crisp, and the screen has no scratches on it.
We used the Tektronix 494P Programmable Spectrum Analyzer to meter the output of a Wayne Kerr PSG2400L Synthesized Signal Generator (sold seperately @ Test Equipment Superstore) at 500 MHz. The test shows a nice precise waveform reading on the 494P.
