SPINDLE for SOUTHBEND LATHE 9 inch model A. 1+1/2X8 TPI , #3 mt. Includes: woodruff key, spindle nut and nut washer. I purchased this for my old Southbend lathe (1927 model 82 AB) It doesn't fit. It is for newer models but I don't know which ones.
I will provide dimensions, READ CAREFULLY AS I DONT DO RETURNS.
The following dimensions go from front 1-1/2x8 thread to the rear.
Total L=12.25 inches, Front thread 1+1/2X8 tpi X 3/4 inch, 1/8 inch space, thin flange. Front bearing L=2.3 inch, front bearing D.=1.811 inch, 1/8" grove, woodruff key length 0.6" for bull gear, 1/8" grove, Spindle center L= 4.2 inch, 1/8" grove, rear bearing length= 2.05 inch, rear bearing D.=1.375 inch. Threads for spindle nut L=0.5 inch, rear spline piece for spindle gear L=1+1/8 inch, D.=1.3 inch, tail end piece L=0.5 inch , tail end of spindle Inside D.=0.765 inch. Note that spindle gear fits splines, not key as in older spindles.
