NEW Parkway Systems Engineering PL300 Test Set
Comes with what you see in the pictures. If you don't see it, you probably wont get it.
The items are guaranteed to work.
Specifications are from Parkway and may vary slightly due to upgrades, options, or revisions this unit may or may not have.
This Tone Set is designed to be used by outside plant personnel to furnish tone for conductor indentification, coiling to a fault, resistance and DC voltage measurements and talk circuit.
The PL300 is a self-contained, battery powered, ohm-meter, DC volt-meter, tone generator, and talk set.
The ohm-meter is used for testing the resistance of cable pairs to determine if shorts or opens exist. It is also used in line balance tests.
The DC Voltmeter is used for measuring DC voltage from 0-130 VDC.
The tone generator is used to supply a cable pair with an adjustable leve, interrupted type tone for use in pair indetifcation and trouble-shooting.
The talk circuitry provides a means of communication between two operators during cable pair identification.
The PL300 is self-containted in a 7"x7"x9" high impact plastic carrying case.
The ohm-meter consists of a rugged taut band instrumentation type meter movement and associated circuitry to allow the operator to select either RX1, or RX1000 ohms scales. Polarity of the testing voltage is selected by a polarity switch, for use in capactive "kicking" and line balance tests without having to phsyically swap the tests leads.
The DC voltmeter is selected by placing a rotary switch in the Volts position. DC measurements from 0-130 VDC can be made.
THe tone generator provides an interrupted tone sourc of 580 hertz +/- 10 percent, 50 percent duty cycle, interrupted at 3 hertz. The output level is operator selectable over a range of 22 volts to 90 volts (peak to peak) in three steps (22V LOW, 67V MED and 90V HI). The polarity of the output voltage is operator selectable via a polarity switch. A neon lamp provies a visual indication of tone generator operation.
The talk circuitry consists of two dial posts, a 3-way phone jack, and a 9 volt battery.
Power for the tone generator and RX1000 is supplied by two 45 volt batteries. Power for RX1 is supplied by one 1.5 volt battery. The talk circuit is supplied by one 9 volt transistor battery (Batteries not included).
