Sleeves made from a combination of Carbtex and para-aramid fibers provide superior arm protection
* Elasticized cuffs keep sleeves in place.
* Great for use in welding applications.
Thousands of terry loops provide a cushion of air to insulate against heat.
This new line of heat and flame resistant sleeves incorporates a revolutionary new material which
acts as a thermo-radiant shield against fires and UV light. The secret of Carbtex lies within its
structure. Its patented oxidized outer shell creates a protective barrier to its inner thermoplastic
core. The Advanced Thermal Protection Properties (ATPPâ„¢) of Carbtex fibers provides resistance
to radiant energy, preventing the energy and heat from passing through the glove’s fabric to the
user’s hand. Whether from combustion flames, electric arc discharge, or from other heat sources,
Carbtex gloves protect workers hands like no other glove on the market. Carbtex products are
cooler and more comfortable in hot environments and warmer in cold temperature.
Let Carbtex Products by Perfect Fit solve your protection challenge…
Features and Benefits of Carbtex Products:
* Can withstand extremely high levels of heat without transferring the
heat or degrading the fiber. Sleeves cool down almost immediately. Arms
stay cool, comfortable and protected.
* Handle radiant heat better than aramid fibers alone.
* Protect arms from the intense heat generated by electric arcs.*
* Offer superior abrasion resistance.
* Feature strong seamless construction – no seams to rip or tear.
* Numerous launderings will not affect flame or cut resistance.
* Feature soft, flexible knit that allows for unimpeded hand dexterity.
* These sleeves are not di-electric
The ASTM F-1999 test determines how much heat from an electric arc a certain fabric (or system of fabrics) will block before the onset of second degree burns to the wearer. That amount of energy is reported as the Arc Thermal Performance Value (ATPV). The following chart details the minimum required arc rating of protection required for compliance to meet each Hazard/Risk Category (HRC). The following ratings should be taken into consideration when choosing PPE to protect individuals from the expected arc exposure in their work environment.
Heat resistance varies depending on the time of exposure and the weight of the object being handled. We have tested our products for fiber degradation and certain ASTM test methods (F-1060, F-1959, NFPA 70E) and those tests show the high performance levels of Carbtex. For more information on the results, contact one of our Hand Protection Specialists.
A 2005 R&D 100 Award has been given to the Perfect Fit Glove Co. and Carbtex companies for their introduction of this electric plasma arc protection glove line. This prestigious Award of R&D Magazine recognizes the materials used in the Carbtex® by Perfect Fit® line of gloves as one of the 100 most technologically significant products introduced into the marketplace over the past year.
